At Time Out we like you to feel at home. This includes giving you the freedom to go out and about if you feel up to it. The local area has a lot to offer to suit all tastes, whether you want to visit a cafe with friends, get a bit of retail therapy at St Lukes, or go for a quiet stroll along the creek.

PARKS & WALKS

This area has a nice creek running through it with a meandering concrete path that's perfect for a calming stroll amongst the willow trees that line the path. If you want to venture a little further there's also Western Springs Park 10 minutes by car which is a lovely spot for a picnic by the lake, and for the animal lovers there's Auckland Zoo right next door.

ST LUKES SHOPPING MALL

St Lukes is a large, popular shopping destination and meeting point. It has shopping options to cater to a wide variety of tastes and needs with fashion boutiques, supermarkets, bookstores, gift shops, pharmacies and many other practical and lifestyle shops to help ensure your stay is convenient and stress-free. CAFES

There are a number of cafes located nearby providing a nice spot to watch the world go by over a cup of coffee in peace, or catch up with family and friends in a relaxed setting with delicious food. The closest is Cafe L'oeuf, just around the corner, which is getting to be quite a popular amongst Aucklanders for it's charming atmosphere with unique and tasty bites.

MT ALBERT

A walk up Mt Albert will give you a lovely vista of the local area, there are also some lovely residential streets at the foot of the mountain. Mt Albert is a historic suburb, being the second to be developed in Auckland and is home to some time-capsuled historical houses - Alberton (100 Mt Albert Road) and Ferndale house (830 New North Road), which offer you a chance to step back in time. For the more adventurous there is Mt Albert Aquatic Centre with its indoor wave pool, and Rocket Park a popular childrens playground built in the 1960's featuring it's famous rocket slide.

SANDRINGHAM

This central and vibrant suburb is well-known for its cheerful ethnic food, spice shops and halal butchers reflecting its diverse and vibrant community. Stroll along Sandringham road and take your pick at one of the many charming eateries.
